We were warned that the Galapagos Sea loins love to get up onto a yacht to lay in the sun and we should try to put up some sort of barrier to keep them off.
We put up the barrier but you can see how effective it was. It was a good thing that we had a separate more effective barrier to keep them out of the cockpit. From the large brown oily stain on our nice white deck next to the wooden swimming platform it was clear that another sea loin had spent the night there. This oily brown stain is very hard to remove. So is the smell that the sea lions leave behind.
We found that squirting them with water was an effective way to get them to move on.
